Queen Victoria is fully booked, carrying 2,014 passengers, mainly from the US and UK, on a round-Britain cruise from Southampton. The liner had arrived from Greenock, on the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. Queen Victoria is in Liverpool to mark the centenary of Aquitania, one of the most successful ocean liners of all time. All grades Suite accommodations have floor-ceiling sliding doors, large-size bedroom (king bed /convertible), bathroom (separate whirlpool bathtub, shower), living area (sofa, table, chairs, bar). More about Cunard Queen Victoria
A variety of delicious dishes from fine ingredients is the reason why Cunard cuisine is respected. Another alternative dining spot is the Todd English Restaurant, with its classic English dining salon and Mediterranean cuisine served. The 2007-built MS Queen Victoria cruise ship is of the same design as MS Queen Elizabeth (2010) and has as fleetmates the Cunard liners RMS Queen Mary 2 (2004) and the fleet's newest boat (2024-built) Queen Anne. Queen Victoria’s Royal Court Theatre was the first to have private boxes, with six either side of the stage. Other familiar company features are the Golden Lion Pub and the Queen's Room for balls and afternoon tea featuring that great delicacy the Cunard scone.
Cunard Queen Victoria Dress Code
Do not expect even the slightest hint of neon or glitz nor -- perish the thought -- rock climbing walls or bumper cars. Luxurious furnishings and eye-catching features lend an air of extravagance to the onboard atmosphere with muted colors and lots of dark wood. Architecture is in keeping with the ambiance of Cunard ocean liners of times past while the interior design offers the contemporary elegance of a modern luxury hotel. The original Queen Victoria keel (2003) had been destined to be a Holland America ship but was transferred to the Cunard ship by Carnival. Thus the Queen Victoria is 5,000t heavier and 11m longer than a normal Vista Class vessel and has a passenger capacity of over 2,000. The ship has 12 passenger decks, with the majority of its public rooms arranged along Deck 2 and Deck 3.

Loyal followers also totally approve of the fact that the cruise line employs a stricter dress code than that followed on other mainstream lines. On Queen Victoria's 21 December 2007 voyage, 122 guests and 11 crew on board contracted norovirus.[35] It was officially attributed to a guest who had already contracted the virus prior to boarding the ship. During drydock refurbishment 2017 (May 5 through June 4, done by Fincantieri in Palermo Sicily Italy) were installed additional 43x Britannia Club staterooms, as well as single-occupancy cabins. According to Cunard Line, the decision was based on passenger demand. Queen Victoria's public rooms follow the trend of the famous QE2’s later refits which were done in a retrospective art deco ocean liner style.
Passengers
It is a traditional ship restaurant which along with the Grills is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Britannia is set-seating for dinner (from 6,00p.m. to 8,30p.m.) and open-seating for lunch and breakfast. It is Cunard’s tradition, passengers who dine at the Grills have assigned tables for dinner, lunch, breakfast and can also dine during restaurants’ opening hours at any time. Theoretically, MS Queen Victoria is a classless ship, but passengers are actually separated (like on all Cunard liners) as their onboard dining locations are according to their cabin's category/cruise fares paid. Britannia Restaurant is for regular cabins, Princess Grill - for junior suites, and the Queen’s Grill is for deluxe suites. The so-called Grill Passengers (dining in Queen’s and Princess Grill) have two private areas on Decks 10 and 11- Grills Terraces.
Featured Queen Victoria cruises
Queen Victoria single cabins (added on Deck 2 during drydock 2015 refurbishment) are designed specifically for solo travellers. Each of these accommodations (8 outside and 1 inside) can be booked with single-occupancy rates. The ship's single staterooms are furnished with oversized single beds (width 4 ft / 120 cm), en suite bathroom (WC-shower), wardrobe (2-door, with 3 drawers). The Queen Victoria passengers it is expected will tend to be the discerning 50+ of British and American origin. With all of the cabins under double occupancy, the ship is able to provide a space ratio of 44.7t per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 1.6 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 40t per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 1.8 passengers.
Service history
The principal venues for onboard entertainment are the Queens Room and the Royal Court Theatre. The Royal Court Theatre, which is three-deck-high, is in traditional style with red velvet and has the design of a classic opera house. It is the venue for lectures, concerts and large-screen movies, too. The featured twenty private boxes can be booked for shows at $50 per couple. This includes champagne and finger sandwiches and bubbly in the box.

The Princess and Queen’s Grill with their lounge and open courtyard, are on Deck 11. 1 Deck, the lowest passenger deck, holds the lowest level of a three-storey stairwell lobby, as well as of the Royal Court Theatre. On 2 Deck can be found the mid-level of the Royal Court Theatre, casino, Golden Lion Pub, Queen's Room, Verandah à la carte restaurant, Chart Room bar, and lower level of both the library and Britannia Restaurant.
Unlike Queen Mary 2, no central circulation access can be seen on Queen Victoria- the main corridors are on the port side. The ship has a similar staircase to the grand lobby as on Queen Mary. Deck 1 (the lowest passenger deck), holds the lowest levels of the 3-storrey Lobby and Royal Court Theatre. On Deck 3 are the top levels of the Royal Court Theatre, Midships Lounge, Royal Arcade and the upper level of the library. The Health Club and spa, Lido Restaurant, Winter Garden lounge and two outdoor pools are on Deck 9. The Commodore Club (a large observation lounge, with ocean views and late-night room for interactive entertainment), Hemispheres nightclub and Churchill Lounge (which is for smokers) are on Deck 10.
MS Queen Victoria (2007-built, last refurbished in 2023 May) is the second of all the four Cunard ships - together with MS Queen Elizabeth (sistership), RMS Queen Mary 2 (flagship) and the fleet's newest liner Queen Anne (2024). The other public rooms are all used by passengers on an equal basis. The Queen’s Grill and Princess Grill have attached lounges and an open courtyard.
To sum up, Queen Victoria is a comfortable, graceful cruise ship best suited to couples, single travelers and mature cruisers. Like the other Cunarders, Queen Victoria operates a class system in which the cabin grade you choose dictates where you eat. This means for those who want to splash the cash, the Queens Grill and Princess Grill provide top notch accommodations and more upmarket dining options.
The Royal Health Club and Spa includes a beauty salon, a gymnasium with ocean view and aerobics area, Thermal Area- steam rooms and sauna, body treatment rooms, relaxation area, rasul chamber for Hammam-style steam and mud bathing. Princess Grill and Queens Grill do not have sittings - when they are open, you can dine any time you choose. A note for confirmation sitting and table number will be left in your stateroom when you board.
The itinerary also includes ports of call in Australia and Southeast Asia before arriving in the Far East, where the Queen Victoria docks in Hong Kong for an overnight stay. The ship will have three bow thrusters each absorbing a maximum power of 2.2MW. The Queen Victoria will have one pair of folding fin stabilisers and each fin will have an area of 20m². The first section of Queen Victoria’s keel was lifted into position in May 2006.
